Dinner at the Austral Hotel had some hilarious moments. Jane Haar has contributed the following photos of Mrs Brown doing her waxing routine.
We also farewelled a friend. Sadly only one photo (courtesy of Michael Middleton) has emerged of when we said goodbye to Gavin Rufus.

The highlight of the evening was the now famous EMU oration by Neville Haar:
Ode to Gavin
It was a sad, sad day when we said farewell
To our cheerful bus driver who we knew so well
Gavin was our knight in shining armour on those long Heysen trails
Patiently waiting for us all to finish walking, even the snails
He was our saviour on so many wild weather days
With a smile and a joke and his friendly cheerful ways
Now it’s time for us to help him in his darkest time
The E M U unionists have accused him of a heinous crime
They say he’s breached an Occupational Health and Safety regulation
And that his coach mustn’t move from the Strathalbyn Bus Station
It has ruffled quite a few feathers and put Gavin out of sort
Especially as the case was heard in a kangaroo court
So rally round dear Gavin all you lovers of the End to End
It’s not right to see poor Gavin bus-less when he’s been such a friend
Write to your Member of Parliament and champion Gavin’s case
Let’s put those bird brained E M U back in their place.
