3rd May 2015:  Dean Mortimer hands Morris Minus to Neville Haar, and unveils a new friend, Morris Super Major.

24th May 2015:  Ann Nosworthy is awarded MM by Neil Nosworthy, who is immediately conscripted to carry MM.  What is going on there??

27th June 2015:  Robert Alcock

28th June 2015:   The theme for the weekend was 'Silver', so Morris aped Eve Buckley's collection.

MM was awarded to Albert Schmidtke.

25th July 2015:  Robert Alcock again.

26th July 2015:   David Meredith is awarded MM and carries him with a couple of Xmas characters for 'Xmas in July'.

22nd August 2015:  The theme for the weekend was 'Magnificent', so with a little help from a friend, David Meredith dressed Morris in magnificent livery.  The recipient was Yvonne Powell who proudly carried MM for the first time.

23rd August 2015:  Dean Mortimer again. MM was not confined to a pack today as Dean carried him on his arm, and let him climb the trig point on Mount Magnificent while we had morning tea.

24th October 2015:  After completing the whole Heysen Trail with E2E-1, Morris gets together with an old mate and his progeny, Ume.

24th October 2015:  Morris also attended the group dinner at Victor Harbor, where he was awarded his certificate for completing the Heysen Trail.  Some of his many costumes were also on display.

Day 51: Kyeema Conservation Park to Mount Compass

Sunday 23rd August 2015:

The theme was 'Magnificent' and today we had the opportunity to climb Mount Magnificent.  We gathered for the usual morning briefing in overcast conditions, and the forecast promised no rain for the day.

Dean Mortimer was awarded Morris Minus for notoriously using the last of the hot water at the caravan park yesterday afternoon. Dean was not even staying at the caravan park with the group, but came back there with us to get ready for dinner that evening. In doing so, Dean managed to get into the shower first and use the last hot water before all the water ran out. The problem was not fixed before dinner, so the rest of us had our showers later in the evening.

Neil Nosworthy had one cent yesterday and a different scent today.

We started in a jaunty fashion, with a spring in our step.

Maybe not.

The old Heysen Trail went to the right and up the slope in this picture, but has long since been re-routed.

We walked through some scrubby areas for a while..........

before reaching the Mt Magnificent Conservation Park.....

and the spur to the Mt Magnificent summit.

It is well worth the climb for the wonderful views.

Morris Minus got to enjoy the views as well.

Some of the group enjoyed a very pleasant morning tea on top of Mt Magnificent.  Some did not make the climb and stayed below, near the sign to the summit.

It is much easier to appreciate the beautiful surroundings on the descent from Mt Magnificent.

It seemed we walked through picturesque countryside most of the day.

We passed this magnificent tree, set in a tranquil sea of green.

The dams were full.

The Finniss River is flowing well.

The scenery is truly beautiful this time of year.

We had lunch by a quiet lane off Nangkita Road.

We bunched up after reaching the top and headed on to Mt Compass.

We walked a total of 21.3 km today, being 20 km on the trail and 1.3 km up and back to the summit of Mt Magnificent.  It was cool and overcast most of the day.
